Texas Little League Official Accused of Theft

WEATHERFORD, Texas (AP) _ A North Texas community’s little league season has been canceled after an organizer was charged with stealing $10,000 and using the
cash to help buy a new truck.

Parker County jail records show Noe Joe McKinzie of Weatherford was released Friday on $7,500 bond. McKinzie was arrested Thursday on a charge of misapplication of fiduciary property.

No publicly listed phone number could immediately be located Friday for McKinzie, who was president of the Peaster (PEE’-ster) Baseball Association. Peaster is an unincorporated community of about 1,000 located 30 miles west of Fort Worth.

Board members recently noticed money missing from league bank accounts. Investigators believe McKinzie created a debit card and withdrew cash, including $3,000 toward a truck down payment.

The board canceled the spring season due to lack of funding.
