Texas Gas Prices Continue Steady Climb

IRVING, Texas (AP) _ Gas prices are continuing to rise in Texas, with consumers paying more at the pump than they have since July 2008.

The weekly AAA Texas gasoline survey released Friday says the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline increased by 8 cents to $3.86 during the past week. In the 11 metropolitan areas where AAA Texas surveys, the increase was between 7 and 11 cents.

The national average rose 11 cents to $3.98.

Dallas has the most expensive gasoline in Texas at $3.90 a gallon, up 8 cents. Fort Worth and Galveston were close behind at $3.89. Motorists in Amarillo are paying the least for gasoline at $3.78.

Drivers in the state and nationwide are paying the most for gasoline since July 26 and 27, 2008
