Texas Department Of Public Safety Releases Details Of Traffic Fatalities In Brazos And Grimes Counties

A College Station man is identified as a bicyclist who was struck and killed Wednesday night between College Station and Millican on FM 2154. The department of public safety announced Friday afternoon that 39 year old Tobias Fiedler was struck from behind by a three ton truck. The collision remains under investigation.

DPS troopers also released details Friday afternoon of a two vehicle crash in Grimes County Thursday morning that killed a backseat passenger and sent two other passengers and the driver to Bryan/College Station hospitals in stable condition. All four were in a car on Highway 30 between Carlos and Roans Prairie that was passing a box truck. When the truck started to make a left turn, the car overcorrected and struck a tree. The person who died was 41 year old Melissa Joyce McCarthy of Conroe. The driver of the car was identified as 58 year old Scotty Lee Logue of Conroe, the front seat passenger was identified as 17 year old Anthony Bridges of Conroe, and the other back seat passenger was a two year old girl from Richards.
