Texas A&M’s president writes about “shifting state and federal policies” in his latest online message.

Mark Welsh says so far, the impact of federal changes has affected less than one percent of the total projects overseen by the A&M system’s sponsored research services.

At the flagship, Welsh says administrators are working to support individuals whose projects are affected.

The president also reports new federal grants are being awarded, albeit slowly.

And Welsh says elected officials have been very receptive to hearing what he describes as “a complete understanding of the impacts of their decisions on our institution.”
