Texas A&M’s Galat named to U.S. Pan Pacific Games roster

IRVINE, Calif. — Texas A&M swimmer Bethany Galat earned a spot on the Team USA roster for the upcoming Pan Pacific Championships with a strong performance at the 2018 Phillips 66 National Championships, which concluded on Sunday.

Galat, who completed her collegiate eligibility earlier this year, earned her spot on the elite team with a runner-up finish in the 200-meter breaststroke. Galat, from Mishawaka, Ind., placed second behind Micah Sumrall with a time of 2:23.32. Galat and Team USA will compete at the Pan Pacs Aug. 9-14 in Tokyo.
