One initiative at Texas A&M established by former president Mark Welsh that did not go away, is planning for university needs through the year 2040.
Interim president Tommy Williams has announced nine committees are delivering reports to a nine member executive body that in 2026 will compose what is described as A&M’s next comprehensive plan.
The nine committees, composed of hundreds of faculty, staff, students, former students and other stakeholders, focused on academics, student life and engagement, university and community relationships, resources and operational infrastructure, university working environment and ecosystem, health and clinical enterprise, employer and state/national needs, research, scholarship, and creative work, and the ONE committee, which is tasked to move the university forward together for the greater good.
