News release from Texas A&M Athletics:

Texas A&M standout Lucciana Perez earned the No. 1 spot in the ITA women’s tennis singles rankings released Tuesday.

Perez joins Mary Stoiana as the only two players in program history to climb to No. 1 in the ITA rankings.

The Lima, Peru, native is dicing up the competition this season. She owns a 19-0 record, all in dual action. The tally includes a 10-0 mark on court 1. Her impressive list of victories includes six against players ranked in the top 15.

Perez is 10-0 in league action and extended her school record of consecutive SEC regular-season victories to 30 in the Aggies’ win at No. 10 LSU.

In the latest edition, the Aggies had five singles players ranked for the first time in 2026. Mia Kupres checked in at No. 43, joined by Ilinca Amariei at No. 56 and Violeta Martinez at No. 102. Lexington Reed earned her first career ranking at No. 124.

Perez is also ranked with two different players in doubles play. She is paired with Kupres at No. 18 and Amariei at No. 74. Amariei and Martinez are ranked No. 54.

The Aggies climbed to No. 2 in the ITA team ranking. The Maroon & White are 18-3 overall and 10-1 in the SEC. Texas A&M and No. 4 Auburn fight for the top spot in the SEC standings Thursday. The first-place bout is slated for 5 p.m. at Mitchell Tennis Center.
