BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The No. 2 Texas A&M women’s tennis team face Quinnipiac in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament Friday at the Mitchell Tennis Center.
The Maroon & White host the Bobcats in a 2 p.m. match following a 11 a.m. contest between UC Santa Barbara (14-8) and Rice (17-6).
The Aggies open the NCAA Tournament at home for the fourth-straight year, as they host the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference champions.
Texas A&M most recent outing against Quinnipiac came in May 2023 where the Aggies blanked the Bobcats, 4-0 at the Mitchell Tennis Center. The Bobcats head into the Brazos Valley looking to extend the winning streak to 10 with an overall record of 12-8 and 8-0 in MAAC play.
The Maroon & White are led by No. 2 Mary Stoiana who earned her third consecutive All-SEC First Team honor. She was joined on the first team by Nicole Khirin. They also come into the tournament with All-SEC Second Team members in Lucciana Perez and Mia Kupres. Leading the pack is All-SEC Co-Coach of the Year, Mark Weaver.
The Aggies enter the weekend with a 68-match home win streak. Texas A&M is 25-3 on the season and won a share of its fourth-consecutive SEC title with a14-1 mark.
The winners of Friday’s matches face off in second round action Saturday at 4 p.m.

The NCAA First and Second Round is a ticketed event. General admission also will be available for purchase on match days at the Mitchell Tennis Center beginning one hour before the first match of the day.
Students will be granted free admission with a valid student ID.
