Texas A&M Women’s Tennis Earns ITA All-Academic Honor

TEMPE, Ariz. – Five members of the Texas A&M women’s tennis team earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete distinction, while the team claimed ITA All-Academic Team recognition, the organization announced.

Teams with a 3.2 GPA for the year earned ITA All-Academic status while student-athletes who posted a 3.50 GPA for the year were recognized as ITA Scholar-Athletes.

The 2025 NCAA runner-up Aggies boasted a 3.376 cumulative GPA throughout the 2024-25 academic year. Seniors Mary Stoiana (4.00) and Kayal Gownder (4.00) highlighted the group with perfect GPAs. Lizanne Boyer (3.82), Avery Esquivel (3.75) and Lexington Reed (3.93) rounded out the five Aggies who earned ITA Scholar-Athlete status. Stoiana claimed College Sports Communicators Academic All-America for the second time in her career in 2025.

Texas A&M is experiencing the greatest run in program history. In addition to finishing second one year after winning their first national title in 2024, the Maroon & White claimed their fourth consecutive SEC regular season crown this year. They stretched their home win streak to 72 straight matches at Mitchell Tennis Center.
