Texas A&M Women’s Golf Player Vanessa Borovilos Finishes Tied for 11th at Augusta National Women’s Amateur

News release from Texas A&M Athletics:

Texas A&M’s Vanessa Borovilos shot even par in the final round of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur at historic Augusta National Golf Club Saturday to finish in a tie for 11th.

Borovilos’s round was highlighted by a magical chip in on No. 12 “Golden Bell” that brought her one of the five bridies on her scorecard for the day. The Canadian shot 5-under 211 in her debut at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur (ANWA). The sophomore was one of five SEC golfers in the top 11, including 2026 ANWA champion Maria Jose Marin of Arkansas who turned in a 14-under 202 to win the tournament.

Borovilos is the third golfer in program history to place in the top 15 at the ANWA, joining Cayetana Fernández García-Poggio and Jennie Park who came in solo fourth and tied for ninth, respectively in 2023.

The All-American is the No. 24 ranked amateur in the world and won the 2018 Girls 10-11 Drive, Chip and Putt National Championship at Augusta National. She rejoins her team at the 22nd “Mo” Morial Invitational April 6-8 at Traditions Club in Bryan, Texas, to wrap up the regular season.

The Aggies are ranked No. 3 in the country with four team titles this season under the direction of head coach Gerrod Chadwell.
