AUGUSTA, Ga. – Texas A&M will be represented by Cayetana Fernández García-Poggio, Jennie Park and Hailee Cooper at the prestigious Augusta National Women’s Amateur April 3-6 at the Champions Retreat Golf Club and historic Augusta National Golf Club.
An international field of 72 women amateurs will compete over 54 holes of stroke play. The first 36 holes will take place at Champions Retreat and then the top 30 golfers, including ties, will advance to the final round at Augusta National on Saturday. In the event of a tie after 54 holes, the winner will be decided by sudden-death playoff.
Fernández García-Poggio and Park will be making their second-consecutive trips the ANWA. Fernández García-Poggio, the No. 6 ranked amateur in the world, shot 3-under 213 last year and placed fourth. Park turned in a 1-over 217 and tied for ninth. Texas A&M and Stanford were the lone schools last year to have two golfers finish in the top 10.
Hailee Cooper will be making her first appearance at the event. She was in line to compete at the 2021 Augusta National Women’s Amateur but was forced to withdraw due to testing positive for COVID-19. The Montgomery, Texas, native was named to the 2023 All-SEC Second Team and helped lead the program to two-straight NCAA semifinal berths and the 2023 SEC Championship.
The tournament will be broadcast from 12:30-2:30 p.m. on the Golf Channel for the first and second rounds. The final round will be on NBC from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Additionally, live stats for the event can be found at anwagolf.com.

The Augusta National Women’s Amateur was announced on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, by Chairman Fred Ridley during his annual press conference at the Masters Tournament. The event was established to inspire greater interest and participation in the women’s game by creating a new, exciting and rewarding pathway for these players to fulfill their dreams.
Provided she remain an amateur, the 2024 Augusta National Women’s Amateur Champion will receive an invitation to the next five Augusta National Women’s Amateurs, the 2024 U.S. Women’s Open, the 2024 Women’s Open, the 2024 Chevron Championship, the 2024 Evian Championship and any USGA, R&A and PGA of America amateur championships for which she is eligible for one year.
