The Texas A&M women’s basketball team fell at No. 18 Kentucky Thursday night inside Memorial Coliseum, 75-55.
The Maroon & White (9-11, 2-9 SEC) was led by Ny’Ceara Pryor who had 21 points, eight rebounds, four steals and three assists. Janae Kent added 13 points, and Fatmata Janneh posted 10 points and hauled in eight boards.
Kentucky (19-7, 6-6 SEC) jumped out to a 27-5 lead after the first 10 minutes when it shot 61.1% from the field. Texas A&M chopped into the lead in the second quarter, going into the locker room with a 20-point deficit, 38-18.
The Aggies played the Wildcats even in the second half, 37-37, but were unable to get within single digits during the final two quarters.
Texas A&M returns to play at 5 p.m. inside Reed Arena versus Auburn (13-9, 2-9 SEC) Sunday.
