LEXINGTON – The Texas A&M volleyball team earned its highest preseason ranking in program history Wednesday, landing at No. 9 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Poll.
The program’s previous best was set in 1997 where it landed at No. 13. It marks the Aggies’ first appearance in the preseason poll since 2016 when the group was tabbed at No. 16.
The Maroon & White are coming off a trip to the Sweet 16 in the 2024 NCAA Tournament and their highest win total since 2019, as they concluded the 2024 campaign with a 21-8 record, 10-6 ledger in league play. The team returns 11 players from last season’s roster, while adding the No. 7 recruiting class in the nation and a dynamic outside hitter from the transfer portal.
The Aggies open their 2025 campaign at the AVCA First Serve event in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Aug. 25 versus No. 11 Minnesota.
