News release from Texas A&M Athletics:
BIRMINGHAM – The Texas A&M track & field men’s 4x400m relay team were named SEC Men’s Runners of the Week following their national-leading mark at the Charlie Thomas Invitational, the league announced Tuesday.
The Aggies’ quartet of Auhmad Robinson, Hossam Eddine Hatib, Antonie Nortje and Kimar Farquharson garnered A&M’s fourth SEC weekly honor of the season after winning the 4x400m title and capturing the national lead with a time of 3:02.88.
The group led the race from start to finish, and thanks to an impressive anchor leg from Farquharson of 45.11 they secured the country’s top time. Their mark also stood out in the Maroon & White’s history books, as they debut at No. 7 all-time as a team.
A&M returns to action this week as it heads to the Tiger Paw Invitational in Clemson, running from Feb. 14-15.
