Texas A&M Track & Field Lands Two SEC Runners of the Week

BIRMINGHAM – Texas A&M track & field’s Auhmad Robinson and Camryn Dickson were named SEC Men’s and Women’s Runner of the Week, respectively, following impressive showings at the Florida Relays, the league announced Tuesday.

Robinson captured a pair of national leads in both the 400m and 4x400m in Gainesville. He opened his weekend in the 400m, where he ran out of the opening heat, crossing the line in a personal-best time of 44.61. The senior won the event, secured the NCAA lead, recorded the third-fastest time in the world this year and jumped from No. 11 to No. 4 in the A&M record books. Doubling down in the 4x400m, Robinson anchored the relay team and was handed the baton in third place, he kicked back on the final straight to take the event title in a time of 3:02.15 which leads the country and world this year.

Dickson put on a clinic all over the track in Florida, claiming two wins, a second-place finish and one third place result. Her first victory came in the 4x100m relay, after qualifying first overall to the final, the group ran a season-best time of 42.94 for the win and claimed the No. 2 spot nationally in the process. Individually in the 100m Dickson ran the fastest wind-legal time in the country this year of 11.11 for the title, while also placing second in the 200m with a personal-best mark of 22.48 to move up to No. 6 on the A&M all-time performers list. She rounded out her weekend in the 4x400m, helping her group cross the line in 3:30.21 which is good for No. 7 in the NCAA this season.

The Aggies return to action this week as they host the 44 Farms Team Invitational April 11-12 at E.B. Cushing Stadium.
