Tuition rates at Texas A&M system universities for the next two years were approved by the board of regents after no one spoke during Thursday’s public hearing.
Rate increases apply only to new students, including transfers, and to those using the variable tuition rate.
The only member of the regents who spoke was the chairman of the finance committee, Bob Albritton of Fort Worth.
That was followed by a presentation from the system’s chief financial officer, Billy Hamilton.
In addition to the schedule affecting all system universities, the board approved A&M’s request for tuition rates to be up to eight percent more expensive for students not on guaranteed plans.
And regents allowed A&M to raise their college differential tuition rates.
