Texas A&M Swimming & Diving’s Bowshire Headed to Diving World Cup Super Final

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M’s Jaxon Bowshire is set to represent Australia at the World Aquatics Diving World Cup Super Final in Beijing May 2-4.

The World Cup competition began in early April  in Guadalajara, Mexico, where Bowshire advanced to the 10-meter platform final after placing fifth in prelims with a score of 413.55. In the final, the Adelaide, Australia, native finished eighth with a score of 423.30. He also notched a ninth-place finish in the 10-meter synchro event with a score of 317.07.

At the second stop in Windsor, Ontario, a few days later, Bowshire secured a 13th-place finish on 10-meter with a score of 379.70 and added another ninth-place finish in the 10-meter synchro event with a score of 338.22.

Bowshire is coming off a historic freshman season that saw him finish as the national runner-up on platform at NCAA Championships after claiming SEC gold in the same event with a score of 476.25, the second-highest mark in program history.
