Texas A&M Swimming & Diving Wraps Up NCAA Championships

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – Texas A&M’s Jaxon Bowshire posted the highest finish in program history on platform as the national runner-up and Rhett Hensley added a fourth-place score in the same event as the Aggies closed out Men’s NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships in historic fashion Saturday night at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center. The Maroon & White finished the meet in 12th place with 95.5 points, which marks the highest finish for the men since the 2020-21 season.

For just the second time in program history on the men’s side, two Aggies earned spots in the championship final on platform. Bowshire advanced to the final as the top seed out of prelims and went on to take second with a score of 450.80 in the evening session. Bowshire’s historic finish at NCAAs capped off an impressive freshman year that also saw him earn gold on platform at SEC Championships.

Hensley also made his championship final debut, earning his spot after a seventh-place finish in prelims. The senior used a career-high of 394.70 to secure fourth place and the third overall All-America accolade of his career. As a pair, Hensley and Bowshire notched the highest combined finish in a single event in the men’s history at A&M.

The 400 free relay team of Connor Foote, Ben Scholl, Seth Reno and Jacob Wimberly closed out the meet taking down the school record as they clocked in at 2:48.08 to place 14th. It marked the Aggies’ second relay school record and third top-16 relay finish of the week.
