Texas A&M Swimming & Diving Gears Up for Challenge at SEC Championships

News release from Texas A&M Athletics:

The Texas A&M men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams battle for conference supremacy in the 2026 Southeastern Conference Championships Monday through Saturday at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center on the University of Tennessee campus.

Director of Swimming & Diving Blaire Anderson on the 2026 SEC Championships:

“I’m really excited about SEC’s. These kids have worked extremely hard, and they have honed in their craft over the past couple weeks and sharpened their tools. I’ve really seen them come together from a support standpoint and I’m excited to see that on display. Yeah, I think we’re in for a treat.

“I think the biggest growth has been the mental side. I think, physically, they’ve always been doing the right things, and (the coaching staff) coming in giving them the critique and feedback that they need to make it even better. But I think from the mental side, it’s understanding how to emotionally regulate, understanding what pressure feels like, and how to respond to that. Also just getting excited for every opportunity, regardless of if it’s an A final, a B final, a C final, it’s still an opportunity to represent your university at a very high level. They take a lot of pride in that. So, I think they’ve grown a lot, matured a lot.”

In the Rankings:
In the most recent editions of the College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Div. I Team Rankings, both Texas A&M squads rank among the top vote-getters among teams outside the top 25.

The women’s poll contains eight teams from the SEC: No. 3 Texas, No. 9 Tennessee, No. 10 Florida, No. 13 Alabama, No. 14 LSU, No. 16 Georgia, No. 18 South Carolina and No. 19 Auburn.
The men’s poll has eight teams from the SEC: No. 1 Texas, No. 4 Florida, No. 7 Georgia, No. 9 Tennessee, No. 14 Alabama, No. 16 Auburn, No. 18 LSU and No. 23 Kentucky.

Last Year at SECs:
At the SEC Championships at Athens, Georgia, the Aggie men’s team placed fifth with 790.0 points and the women’s squad finished eighth with 566.6 points.
Jaxon Bowshire took the gold medal in the men’s platform dive on his way to SEC Freshman Diver of the Year honors.

Additionally, the Aggies took down four school records, including the men’s 400 freestyle and medley relays.
