Texas A&M Swimming & Diving 200 Free Relay Highlights Day Two at NCAAs

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – Texas A&M’s 200 free relay made the Aggies’ podium debut with a top-eight finish to cap off the night, while Connor Foote and Baylor Nelson added Honorable Mention All-America accolades Thursday at Men’s NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center. The Maroon & White currently sit in 12th with 39.5 points.

The 200 free relay team of Foote, Ben Scholl, Seth Reno and Ben Sytsma took down the school record, going 1:15.25 to secure All-America distinction and earn a spot on the podium. Scholl’s 18.49 50 free split ranks as the fastest in program history.

Foote posted a top-10 finish in the 50 free final, dropping time from the morning session to go 18.78 and place 10th. On the night, Foote made it three All-America honors for the week and upped his career total to 12. Nelson got the night started for the Aggies in the 200 IM, touching the wall in 1:41.30 to tie for 14thand secure the seventh All-America honor of his career.

Competition continues Friday with Aggies in action in the 100 fly, 400 IM, 100 breast, 3-meter and 400 medley relay. Links to live swimming results and streaming can be found here, while live diving results can be found here.
