Texas A&M Softball Lands No. 2 Seed at SEC Tournament

BIRMINGHAM – The Texas A&M softball team earned the No. 2 seed and a double bye in the SEC Tournament beginning May 6-10 at Jack Turner Stadium in Athens, Georgia.

After finishing the SEC with a 17-6 record in second place, the highest finish in program history, Texas A&M is slated to play Thursday, May 8 approximately 35 minutes after game 10 at featuring No. 3 Texas and opponent TBD at 4 p.m.

Potential matchups for the Aggies include No. 7 South Carolina, No. 10 Alabama and No. 15 Auburn. Texas A&M swept the Tigers in Auburn in its first SEC road test of the season, while winning the series against the Crimson Tide at Davis Diamond the following week. Despite not playing South Carolina this season, the Aggies went 4-0 against the Gamecocks a season ago that included a sweep at home and a quarterfinal walk off win in the SEC Tournament. Texas A&M received a double bye for the second consecutive season after finishing 2024 as the No. 3 seed.

The first three rounds are nationally broadcasted on the SEC Network, while Friday’s semifinal games are on ESPN2 and Saturday’s championship game is on ESPN at 4 p.m. For more information on the 2025 SEC Softball Tournament visit secsports.com.
