News release from Texas A&M Athletics:
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M soccer team bolstered its midfield with the addition of All-Mountain West Conference performer Trinity Buchanan, head coach G Guerrieri announced Wednesday.
“Trinity is a great all-around attacking force,” Guerrieri said. “She is athletic and very dynamic in her ability to score goals and create opportunities for her team. Trinity brings a wealth of experience from her role at UNLV as well as with her youth club program and high school in Nevada, where she excelled and was decorated as the state’s best player.”
Buchanan, who joins the 2025 squad as a junior, enjoyed two stellar seasons at UNLV. She started all 40 matches during her time with the Rebels, registering 31 points on 12 goals and seven assists.
“I expect her to make us immediately more dangerous in attack,” Guerrieri said. “She will be able to compete on the national soccer stage.”
Buchanan was selected as an All-Mountain West midfielder in 2024, ending the season in seventh place in the conference in points (18), and tied for eighth in goals (6) and assists (6) in 20 matches. She flourished in Mountain West games, logging 11 points on four goals and three assists in 11 matches.
As a freshman, the Henderson, Nevada native logged 13 points on six goals and one assist in 20 matches. She earned Mountain West Freshman of the Week recognition on two occasions.
Buchanan was a prep star at Coronado High School. She was the 2022-23 Nevada Gatorade Player of the Year and 2023 Division 5A State Player of the Year. She led the Cougars to a 60-4-7 record and a 2021 NIAA Class 5A State Championship title and finished her career with 99 points on 33 goals and 33 assists.
