Texas A&M Men’s Tennis Earns All-SEC First Team Honors

News release from Texas A&M Athletics:

BIRMINGHAM – Texas A&M’s Raphael Perot and JC Roddick earned All-SEC First Team recognition, the league announced Thursday.

This marked back-to-back years where the Aggies have landed two players on the first team. Since joining the SEC during the 2012-13 season, Texas A&M has had a player named to the all-conference first team every year.

Perot is ranked No. 23 in the nation in singles after holding down court 1 for the Aggies all year long and posting a 15-10 record on the year. The senior has seven ranked wins this season and was named SEC Player of the Week on Feb. 28 for the first time in his career. The first team nod was the second-straight for the Octeville-sur-Mer, France, native.

For Roddick, this marked the first All-SEC recognition for the junior. The San Antonio, Texas, native was the only player in the league this season to win back-to-back SEC Player of the Week honors and was the first in program history to accomplish the feat. Roddick led the team with 25 wins this season and did most of his work on court 2. The Aggie is ranked No. 40 in the country on the ITA Rankings.

The Maroon & White will learn their regional assignment for the NCAA Tournament on Monday, April 29 at 5 p.m. The selection show will be streamed on NCAA.com.
