Texas A&M Men’s Tennis Competes at ITA Sectional Championships

FORT WORTH – The Texas A&M men’s tennis team heads to the ITA Sectional Championships at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center from Nov. 7-10.

The Aggies will compete in the Central section tournament, consisting of players from the Central, Midwest, and Texas regions.

The ITA holds four sectional championships across the United States. Each sections draw consists of 32 singles players and 16 doubles duos. Six singles players will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship, including the semifinalists and two quarterfinal playoff winners. Three doubles duos will also earn a spot in the NCAA Doubles Championship, including the champion, finalist, and third place.

The four Aggies competing to qualify in singles are seniors JC Roddick and Giulio Perego, junior Togan Tokac, and sophomore Tiago Pires. The duo of Perego and Tokac will be competing in doubles play to earn a qualifying spot.

Play starts tomorrow, Nov. 7, with the doubles round of 16 and the singles round of 32.
