TEXAS A&M QUOTES

Head Coach Brian Kortan

On winning back-to-back tournaments…

“I’m not sure they’re connected, but the record will show that they were. It’s just a good way to start the spring. The guys did a really nice job. They felt a little bit over nerves today. In some cases, they handled them pretty well. In other cases, it kind of got to them a little bit. In the end, they got a good win and I was really proud of the performance.”

On Phichaksn Maichon earning his third career win…

“P did a heck of a job. He was playing in front of the field the whole week with guys breathing down his neck. But it was good to have that experience and once out on top. It is a really good way to start the spring for him.”

On the strong performances from the rest of the squad…

“Jaime (Montojo) made a run at the tournament title for a while but had a few hiccups down the stretch. Wheaton (Ennis) had a really nice golf tournament. Mike (Heidelbaugh) played a good round today and helped with the final push to the team title. Aaron (Pounds) was right there every round. Nobody was out of a round which is something we talk about. That includes Vish (Sadagopan). He did a heck of a job as well. So we had six guys that were in every round from hole 1 to hole 18. When we do that, we’re a good golf team.”
