BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M men’s golf team bolstered its roster for the 2025-26 campaign with the addition of Kris Kuvaas, a rising junior with two years of West Coast Conference experience, head coach Brian Kortan announced Tuesday.
“We are excited Kris will be joining us this fall,” Kortan said. “He’s extremely dedicated to his craft and will fit in immediately with the dedicated, hard-working culture here at Aggie Golf. He’s gained a ton of valuable experience the last two seasons from winning a conference title to playing in regionals and NCAAs. His experience and dedication will pay dividends from day one.”
Kuvaas arrives in Aggieland after two seasons at Pepperdine. Last season with the Waves, he posted a 71.40 adjusted scoring average, competing in 11 tournaments totaling 35 rounds. He tied teammate Mahanth Chirravuri atop the leaderboard at 2025 WCC Championship with a 15-under 201 (70-65-66) with Chirriavuri claiming the individual title in a playoff. He cracked the top 200 of the Scoreboard National Player Rankings on April 28, checking in at No. 198. Kuvaas was named an All-WCC Honorable Mention.
In 2023-24, Kuvaas registered two top 10 finishes, including winning the Saticoy Showdown and placing sixth at The Goodwin which featured 17 top 100 players.
His amateur endeavors include winning the Southwestern Amateur at Desert Mountain Golf Club. He also placed in the top 10 at the 2023 Dustin Johnson World Junior and 2022 Billy Horschel Junior Championship. Kuvaas also competed in the 2023 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship.
A 2023 graduate of The Village School in Houston, Kuvaas was a three-year letter winner for the Vikings. He won the 2021 Texas 6A Private championship and finished runner-up in 2023. Kuvaas earned All-Stat First Team all three seasons. He won three district titles.
Born in Oslo, Kuvaas has represented Norway in international events, including The Spirit in 2024.
