News release from Texas A&M athletics:

The Texas A&M men’s basketball team topped Arizona State, 95-88, behind a 20-point night from Zach Clemence in a preseason exhibition game at the Fort Bend EpiCenter Sunday evening.

Texas A&M kept things close throughout until Clemence sparked a 12-2 run with nine minutes to play, knocking down one of his five threes to put the Aggies up 78-71. Arizona State used a quick run of its own to regain the advantage, but a three-point play from Ali Dibba and another three from Clemence made it 86-80 in A&M’s favor. The Aggies held the lead the rest of the way, never letting the Sun Devils get closer than five.

The Maroon & White kept things close in the first half as play remained back-and-forth throughout. Rylan Griffen led the way with 10 of his 16 points coming in the first half, including a pair of threes.

Rashaun Agee added eight points and eight rebounds in the win, while Josh Holloway dished out nine assists. Federiko Federiko rounded out the double-digit scorers for the Aggies with 11 points. Texas A&M was 13-of-29 from three-point range and took the advantage on the boards, 44-34.

The Aggies begin the regular season Monday, Nov. 3, hosting Northwestern State at 7 p.m. on SEC Network+.
