Texas A&M Men’s and Women’s Tennis to Host Regionals

INDIANAPOLIS – The Texas A&M men’s tennis team was selected by the NCAA selection committee to host the NCAA first and second rounds at the Mitchell Tennis Center May 3-4, the organization announced Monday.

The Aggies earned their 30th straight NCAA postseason bid to the big dance and will be hosting regionals for the ninth time in 11 years. During that span, the Aggies have won 16 straight first round matchups. The Maroon & White secured the No. 15 national seed in the 2024 tournament.

The Aggies (18-10) will open the regional round against the Rice Owls (17-8), Friday, May 3, with first serve set for 1 p.m. If the Maroon & White win, they will take on the winner of Baylor and San Diego Saturday, May 4, with first serve set for 4 p.m.

A&M is coming off a top-five finish in the SEC regular season and the Aggies’ 30 straight NCAA tournament appearances stands as one of the longest streaks in the country. They are led by a pair of 2024 All-SEC First Team selections in Raphael Perot and JC Roddick who have been mainstays on courts 1 and 2, respectively, this season.

If the Aggies advance past the College Station Regional, they will move on to a super-regional, which will be played either May 10 or 11 against the winner of the Austin regional. After the supers, the final site of NCAAs May 16-19 at the Greenwood Tennis Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma, will be next on the docket to determine the 2024 NCAA Champions.

The individual and doubles championship field will be named on Tuesday. That tournament will take place May 20-25 in Stillwater.

General admission also will be available for purchase on match days at the Mitchell Tennis Center beginning one hour before the first match of the day. INDIANAPOLIS – The Texas A&M women’s tennis team secured the No. 13 overall seed entering the NCAA Tournament and will host the opening two rounds at the Mitchell Tennis Center May 4-5, the organization announced Monday.

Texas A&M (22-7) secured their 29th NCAA Tournament bid, and third-straight year hosting the opening rounds after earning the No. 13 overall seed. The Maroon & White have reached the Elite 8 the past two seasons, and advanced to the Sweet 16 every year since 2019.

The Aggies will face A&M-Corpus Christi (23-2) in the opening round Saturday with first serve set for 1 p.m., and if it advances the Aggies would face the winner of Arizona (17-12) and Oklahoma (18-6) Sunday also at 1 p.m. The winners of the opening round matches will advance to the Super Regional which will also be held on campus sites.

The Maroon & White are coming off their third-straight SEC regular season title, and the programs fourth-consecutive trip to the conference tournament finals. A total of nine members of the conference earned bids, and four earned official seeds and will be hosting.
