Wayne Roberts, who graduated from A&M in 1985, is finishing his second year on the foundation board and according to the foundation’s website, is considered one of A&M’s top financial supporters.
Roberts is a first generation college student who is a distinguished alumnus of the university and the Mays Business School.
He was the lead donor of a building that bears his name and chairs the dean’s advisory council of the business school.
Roberts was the donor who was responsible for the court at Reed Arena being named for retired women’s basketball head coach Gary Blair.
He will continue serving on the foundation board when he starts June 1 as the organization’s interim president and CEO.
Roberts will be the second interim leader. The foundation’s chief financial officer and vice president John Huser, A&M class of 1989, was appointed last December following the resignation of Tyson Voelkel.
