COLLEGE STATION, Texas — One week prior to the season opener against Rice, fans of the Texas A&M football team will have an opportunity to “Meet the Aggies,” presented by Academy Sports + Outdoors. The Aggie football team will sign autographs Saturday, Aug. 24 from 1:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. inside the Gilliam Indoor Track Complex, located at the south end of Kyle Field adjacent to Wellborn Road.
Academy Sports + Outdoors will have several activities set up outside of the Gilliam Track to gear fans up for football season, while Aggie Locker will be selling the latest Texas A&M apparel
and branded items near the front of the facility. Doors to the complex will open at 12:30 p.m.
Fans participating in “Meet the Aggies” will receive an autograph card complete with a 2013 Texas A&M roster. A limited number of 2013 schedule posters will also be available. In order to accommodate as many fans as possible, attendees are reminded that coaches and players will sign one item per person. They will also remain seated to sign, so there will not be an opportunity for posed photographs.
As a special highlight, attendees will have the opportunity to have a picture taken with the 2012 Heisman Trophy won by Aggie quarterback Johnny Manziel.
Parking for the event is free in surface lots 61 and 62, which is the parking lot on the press box side of Kyle Field off of Wellborn Road, as well as the surface lot across the railroad tracks at Kimbrough and Wellborn Road.
The Aggie squad will have to depart promptly at 3 p.m. in order to prepare for that day’s practice, which is closed to the public.
Texas A&M kicks off the 2013 football campaign against Rice at noon on Aug. 31 at Kyle Field. The game will be televised nationally by ESPN.
