Bryan city manager and former mayor Andrew Nelson is undergoing medical treatment for a mass in his brain. Mayor Bobby Gutierrez is quoted in a news release in saying “Bryan is standing with Andrew and his family in prayer, in hope and in unwavering support.” Nelson’s family has asked for privacy, and city operations continue without interruption. Nelson began as city manager in November of 2025, following his service as mayor from 2016 to 2022.
