Texas A&M Football Debuts at No. 8 in Preseason Coaches Poll

News release from Texas A&M Athletics: 

Texas A&M earned a No. 8 ranking in the preseason edition of the 2026 US LBM Coaches Poll, released Tuesday.

It marks the highest preseason ranking in the poll of the Mike Elko era. Last year the Aggies debuted at No. 21 before advancing to their first-ever College Football Playoff.

Five A&M opponents appear in the poll. Leading the way is No. 9 Oklahoma, who A&M will face on Nov. 21 in Norman. Also listed are No. 11 Alabama (Oct. 24, Bryant-Denny Stadium), No. 13 LSU (Sept. 26, Tiger Stadium), No. 18 Tennessee (Nov. 14, Kyle Field) and No. 25 Missouri (Oct. 10, Columbia).
