Texas A&M Equestrian Team Earns APHA Academic Honors

News release from Texas A&M Athletics: 

Twenty-five members of the Texas A&M equestrian team garnered APHA academic honors, as announced by the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) on Wednesday afternoon.

Meagan Braun, Kendall Dirksen, Kate Egan, Isabelle Gonzalez, Mattie Gustin, Anna Harris, Alexa Leong, Grace Shipman, Davan Thomas and Alida Treuting were named to the APHA All-Academic First Team. To qualify for first team honors, a student-athlete must compete in a minimum of 70-percent of the team’s meets, while maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher for the fall and spring semesters.

Grace DeFoe earned second team honors, which required competing in a minimum of 60-percent of the team’s meets, while keeping a 3.25 GPA for the fall and spring semesters.

Gracie Casebolt, Kaylynn Heitman and Moriah McQueen received honorable mention distinction, which recognized riders that competed in 50-percent of the meets and maintained a 3.0 GPA for the fall and spring semesters.

The Aggies also had 22 student-athletes named to the APHA Academic Honor Roll, which is awarded to those with a cumulative GPA of a 3.25 in the fall and spring semesters.
