Announcements from the May meeting of the Texas A&M system board of regents from chancellor John Sharp included the legislature giving the Corps of Cadets to assist in the purchase of uniforms.

Sharp, who was a member of the corps Squadron 6 while attending A&M, said “of course I love the Corps at A&M as do these folks here (board of regents). And one of the things that is not a really big deal in the legislative line of things, but we did get yesterday (May 28) a $6 million dollar appropriation to the Corps of Cadets for uniforms for DNC students. And I think that’s gonna wind up helping a bunch of kids forward to stay in the corps.”
