News release from Texas A&M Athletics:

DALLAS – The Texas A&M baseball team earned its fourth preseason No. 1 ranking on Monday as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association announced its preseason poll.

This marks the first time in the 28-year history of the poll that the Aggies will open as the No. 1 team. The Maroon & White have now been ranked as the No. 1 team in all four preseason polls that have been released out of the five major publications. Texas A&M is one of five SEC programs in the Top 10, which leads all conference.

The Aggies are coming off a historic run in 2024 that saw them reach the College World Series Finals for the first time in program history. The trip to Omaha marked the Maroon & White’s second in the last three seasons and eighth overall. Texas A&M is entering its first season under head coach Michael Earley, who helped turn the Aggies into one of the most powerful and potent offenses in the country during his tenure as an assistant the last three seasons.

Texas A&M opens its 2025 season Friday, Feb. 14 at Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park against Elon.
