No. 22 Texas A&M baseball is set to open SEC league play at Kimrey Family Stadium to face No. 9 Oklahoma in a three-game series starting Friday night at 6:30 p.m. Game two is slated for Saturday at 4 p.m. with the series finale on Sunday at 2 p.m.
Each game of the series will be broadcast on SEC Network+ and may be heard locally on 1150 AM/93.7 FM The Zone. Fans may follow along through live stats or on X, @AggieBaseball.
Friday’s series opener marks the 69th meeting all-time between the two programs, with the series tied at 34-34. The three-game set is the first conference series between the clubs since 2012 when both schools were members of the Big 12 Conference. The last meeting between the Aggies (15-1) and Sooners (15-2) came in 2022 when the clubs met twice in Omaha.
Texas A&M will send the trio of Shane Sdao, Weston Moss and Aiden Sims to the mound for the weekend series. The three have been efficient in the strike zone this season, combining for 69 strikeouts while issuing just 11 walks through 66.3 innings of work. Sims (3-0) leads the pack with a 1.59 ERA and is tied with Sdao (3-0) for the team lead in strikeouts with 25.
As a unit, the Aggie pitching staff leads the country in walks allowed per nine innings (1.58) and ranks second in strikeout-to-walk ratio (5.78). The Maroon & White boast the fourth-best WHIP (0.99) nationally and rank 11th in ERA (2.95)
Texas A&M fields a high-powered offensive attack that ranks inside the top 15 nationally in batting average (.344), on-base percentage (.474), slugging percentage (.612) and home runs (32). Caden Sorrell leads the Aggies with a .407 batting average, a .889 slugging percentage, 28 RBI and eight home runs. Boston Kellner and Terrence Kiel II enter Friday’s opener having reached base safely in all 16 games this season.
