Teen Gets 60 Years for Stabbing Mom

ROANOKE, Texas (AP) _ An 18-year-old from Roanoke has been sentenced to 60 years in prison after pleading guilty to murder in the stabbing of her mother.

A Denton County official tells the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that Jennifer Bailey, who was sentenced Monday, must serve at least 30 years before she is eligible for parole.

After Susan Bailey was fatally stabbed in her Roanoke home last year, Jennifer Bailey fled to South Dakota with her boyfriend and younger brother.

The boyfriend, Paul Allen Henson Jr., was sentenced to 60 years in prison after entering a guilty plea to murder.

Assistant prosecutor Jamie Beck says the brother, who was 13 at the time of the stabbing, faces a capital murder charge in the juvenile system. The teen will not face the death penalty.
