TCU’s Patterson Speaks out About SMU “Flag Planting”

TCU Football coach Gary Patterson has a bone to pick with SMU.

Following the Mustangs’ 42-34 victory over the Horned Frogs last Saturday in Fort Worth, several SMU players attempted to plant their flag at the 50-yard line of Amon G. Carter Stadium.

A shoving match ensued, with TCU assistant Jerry Kill getting knocked down twice and sustaining a concussion.

According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Patterson believes the flag-planting was premeditated, though SMU denies the claim.

He also took exception to the Mustangs’ official Twitter account parodying his original song, “Take A Step Back”, saying he could go after them for copyright infringement, but that he’s more worried about this Saturday’s game against Texas.
