GALVESTON, Texas (AP) _ The U.S. Coast Guard says a chemical tanker that went aground at the entrance to Galveston Bay has been refloated with no damage to the vessel.
Coast Guard Petty Officer Jessica LaRue says the 523-foot Isabel Knutsen was anchored Friday just outside the Port of Galveston.
LaRue says tugboats freed the tanker Thursday night. LaRue says the Isabel Knutsen lost steering and ran aground Wednesday where the Houston Ship Channel and Intracoastal Waterway meet.
The tanker is carrying more than 17,000 tons of a liquid chemical and about 700 tons of fuel oil. LaRue says nothing spilled.
