PASADENA, Texas (AP) _ Police shot and killed a suspected robber who allegedly put a gun to a restaurant manager’s head and later pointed the weapon at officers.
Pasadena police say no customers or workers were hurt in the shooting around 3 a.m. Monday in a parking area near a Denny’s restaurant.
A witness called to report the robbery. Two officers opened fire after police say the man pointed a handgun at them.
Police spokesman Vance Mitchell says the name of the 43-year-old man was not immediately released. He died at the scene.
A pickup parked near where the suspect was shot had been reported stolen Sunday night from Baytown.
The two officers who opened fire have been put on administrative leave during a review of the shooting.
