Support Operation Cookie

As the 2012 Girl Scout cookie season comes to a close, local members are completing their annual campaign to give those in the military a taste of home.

Girl Scouts in Bryan and College Station have been part of “Operation Cookie” for several years.  But 2012 marks the first time members will deliver cookies to the members of the Texas Army National Guard.

Nine year old Leah Cairns of Bryan told WTAW’s Chelsea Reber she has sold over 400 boxes for Operation Cookie.

There is still time to contribute to the campaign. One way is by contacting the local Girl Scout office by e-mail at bcssu.gsctx@gmail.com until the close of business March 1st.

This Sunday, February 26th, between 2 and 4 p.m., cookies can be purchased at the Girl Scout house located at 2515 Rountree in Bryan (which is near the Bryan Municipal Golf Course).

The following Sunday, March 4th, scouts will make their delivery to the Bryan headquarters of the 1-112th Texas National Army Guard.
