As the school year comes to an end, is the start of children staying at home alone.
Bryan police officer Kelley McKethan reminds parents to stay in constant contact with their kids during summer vacation.
McKethan also says children need to know how to call 9-1-1, and what requires a call to emergency dispatchers.
Additionally, McKethan reminded adults to double check vehicles to make sure children and/or pets are not left inside with the windows rolled up.
McKethan also says to lock your vehicles at home to keep kids from hiding inside.
And if you happen to walk by a vehicle with a child or pet inside and the windows are rolled up, McKethan says the first thing to do is call 9-1-1.
