Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday of this week, there were 17 vehicle burglaries in College Station.
From October 1 through 8 there have been 23 burglaries to vehicles along with two residential breakins and one at an unidentified building.
Up until the last couple of weeks, College Station had fewer burglaries compared to the same period last year.
Police Lt. Chuck Fleeger says thieves are like everyone else in the respect that we all like to go shopping.
He suggests not leaving items in vehicles and locking them.
With some of the thefts taking place in residential neighborhoods, Fleeger suggests getting to know your neighbors and look out for each other.
