Storms Generate CS Power Outage

College Station Utilities (CSU) responded to a power outage early Thursday morning caused by significant lightning associated with strong storms.

CSU General Manager Timothy Crabb says just after 4 a.m., about 2,300 customers were affected in the area east of the freeway and north of Carters Creek, and in the Home Depot area.

Crabb says power was back on to all but two of these customers by 5:50 a.m.

The two remaining customers have crews on site replacing transformers that were damaged by the storm.
