AUSTIN, Texas (AP) _ State Rep. Kino Flores is free on his own recognizance after he was booked Monday into the Travis County jail.
The Lower Rio Grande Valley lawmaker is charged with not disclosing sources of income, real estate transactions and gifts. Those gifts include a racehorse given to his son by a lobbyist.
A Travis County grand jury Friday returned six indictments against the Palmview Democrat. They include 16 counts of tampering with a government record and three of perjury.
Flores denies any wrongdoing. His attorney, Roy Minton, says Flores has complied with state election law.
