It marks the first time in Texas that any mall has allocated free retail space for student startups.

Co-founders, Madison Jones, Matt Kinsel, and Jared Knowles, began the project last October as part of Texas A&M’s Startup Aggieland organization.

Since then, they have sold 40% of their current inventory, won Best Pitch in this year’s Shark Frenzy event, and on Friday, they will host their grand opening in the mall.

“Lynx Toys is a noodle connector and allows kids to connect Styrofoam noodles together to build any creation they can imagine,” said Jones.

Jones said the plastic connectors allow kids to create everything from animals to sports goals and forts.

“It inspires creation, innovation and imagination, it brings families together, so instead of sitting around your TV or playing video games, get your kids off the couch, get those noodles out of the attic and start building things,” said Jones.

Lynx Toys can be purchased on Amazon, Toy Splash and on their website.

The floor display in the mall is located near The Buckle and The Great American Cookie Company. The grand opening starts at noon.
