Multiple agencies were involved in a standoff in Franklin on Monday (September 8) for more than five hours.
Robertson County sheriff Bill Ruland posted on the sheriff’s office Facebook page that an unidentified person was taken into custody without anyone being injured.
The Facebook post did not provide any information about why the person was wanted or how they were apprehended.
There was an evacuation of those living around the home where the standoff took place.
The location was south and east of the intersection of Highway 79 and FM 46.
The sheriff’s Facebook post said the person who barricaded themself was taken to the Robertson County jail. The charges were not disclosed.
Joining the Robertson County sheriff’s office at the scene were Franklin and Bryan police, Robertson County precinct three constables, the Texas department of public safety, Robertson County district attorney office, the Texas attorney general’s office, Robertson County EMS, and the U.S. marshal’s office.
