St. Louis Band Stuck in Austin After Equipment is Stolen

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) _ A trailer containing $30,000 worth of music equipment has been stolen from a St. Louis-based band following a performance in Austin.

The theft occurred during a cross-country tour by the group Foxing. The band had to cancel a performance planned for Thursday in Houston.

Bassist Josh Coll told the Austin American-Statesman (http://atxne.ws/1GTMGA3 ) the theft occurred Wednesday as they stayed with a band member’s relative in Austin. A lock connecting the trailer to a van was cut and the thief then drove away with the trailer.

Coll says the band is trying to regroup and figure out how to complete the last two weeks of the tour.

Members are selling merchandise in Austin and taking other steps to raise money for new equipment.
