The newly expanded women’s center increased the number of labor and delivery rooms from 6 to 11 and the number of postpartum rooms from 17 to 34. There are three rooms designed to monitor women threatened with pre-term labor, a surgical suite with two operating rooms and a recovery area. The well-baby nursery was expanded as was the family viewing area. A separate, special-care nursery and state-of-the-art fetal monitor surveillance system were also part of the upgrades.
