College Station’s Southwood Community Center closed in August for maintenance and repairs. Virginia Godwin, Facilities & Events Recreation Supervisor, says the 20 year-old building suffered from significant water damage.
“We did address all the water damage inside of the walls and replaced all of that. We also replaced the carpet throughout the facility with vinyl planking,” said Godwin.
Now that the Meyer Senior Center is open, Godwin says programming at the Southwood Community Center will be more directed to young children, parents and home school children.
Hours are Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
